Visa required

This is an eVisa, which you apply for online. Check the eligibility rules and the documents you'll need before you travel.

Brazilian ordinary-passport holders can use a single-entry electronic visitor visa, effective 5 February 2026, for arrival by air only. Apply via https://visaelectronica.sre.gob.mx/ingresar and print or download the approval. The eVisa is valid for up to 180 days; the actual permitted stay is decided separately on arrival and may be shorter than 180 days. Arrival by land or sea requires a consular visa unless a conditional exemption applies. A digital photo, a passport scan and online payment are required.

You may be exempt from a Mexican visitor visa or SAE if you hold qualifying permanent residence in Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, a Schengen state, Chile, Colombia or Peru; or a valid multiple-entry visa from Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom or a Schengen state that remains valid throughout your Mexican visit. Admission can be up to 180 days, subject to immigration's decision. Temporary residence, an eTA or an expired supporting visa does not meet these conditions. An APEC Business Travel Card approved by Mexico can provide a separate route for qualifying business visits.

Government fees
USD 10 per application; payment does not guarantee approval.

Check the conditions

FMM

INM guidance distinguishes land arrivals, which use the FMM, from international-airport arrivals, which no longer complete or carry the FMM. Check the official instructions for your entry point; the form is not a visa.

Onward travel

Recommended

Immigration officers can ask for proof of return or onward travel. Official guidance doesn't list a prebooked ticket as mandatory for every tourist, but carry proof of departure, your itinerary and evidence of funds, as officers can ask for them.

Travel insurance

Recommended

Mexico's official guidance doesn't list travel insurance as a general requirement for tourists, but medical and repatriation cover is recommended.

Other information

These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.

  • A visitor stay can be up to 180 days, but immigration determines the actual admitted period.
  • Officers may request accommodation, an itinerary, funds and onward-travel evidence. Consular application requirements can differ from border requirements.
  • Supporting foreign visas or residence documents create exemptions only under the stated conditions. Check passport validity with the competent authority for your route.
