Visa required

Before you travel, check what the official route asks for. Which route is open to you depends on your passport and your situation.

Uruguay ordinary passport holders are not on Morocco's Ministry of Foreign Affairs list of nationalities exempt from an entry visa.

Government fees
Visa fees are set by the Moroccan embassy or consulate that handles your application. If you qualify for an eVisa, the fee is shown on the official Accès Maroc portal before payment and is non-refundable.

Conditions and exceptions

Obtain a visa before travelling through the Moroccan embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence. Where Morocco has no mission in your country, apply through the Moroccan mission accredited to it.

You may instead qualify for an eVisa on the official Accès Maroc portal if your ordinary passport is valid for at least 90 days and you either live in the European Union, the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates or Switzerland with a residence permit valid for at least 180 days, or hold a multiple-entry visa valid for at least 90 days from the Schengen area, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, Canada, Norway or New Zealand.

An eVisa allows one entry and a stay of up to 30 days. Holding a visa or eVisa does not guarantee entry.

Arrival forms & authorizations

No arrival card required

Morocco's official entry information does not list an arrival card or online arrival form for visitors. Websites selling a "Morocco digital arrival card" are not run by the Moroccan government.

Some passport holders need an electronic travel authorization (AEVM) or an eVisa before travelling. The eligibility check on the official Accès Maroc portal tells you whether you need no visa, an AEVM, an eVisa or a visa from a Moroccan consulate. It asks for your nationality, passport type, country of residence, any other visa you hold, purpose of travel and date of birth.

Carry a passport or other travel document that Morocco recognises and that is valid for your trip.

Border officers can check the purpose of your visit, your means of support and your arrangements for leaving Morocco. Holding a visa or eVisa does not guarantee entry.

If you travel on an eVisa, carry the eVisa document when you board, at the border and during your stay.

Other information

These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.

  • Have a passport that is valid for your whole stay. Official advice on minimum validity differs: the UK government advises at least 3 months after arrival, while the US and Canadian governments advise at least 6 months. eVisa applicants need an ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days from the application date.
  • eVisa holders may also be asked on arrival to show proof of funds (an international bank card, or the equivalent of more than EUR 70 in cash per person per day of the stay) and the residence card or visa used for the eVisa application.
  • Children under 18 travelling on an eVisa can enter only with a parent or legal representative.
  • To stay longer than the permitted period, request an extension from the foreigners' service at a Moroccan police station before your permitted stay ends.
  • If you are arriving from a country affected by polio, you need a certificate showing you have had a polio vaccine.
