Arrival forms & authorizations
No arrival card required
Qatar's official entry information does not list an arrival card or online arrival form for visitors. Hayya (hayya.qa) is Qatar's official platform for e-visas and entry permits; it is not an arrival card. Websites that charge for a "Qatar arrival card", or that sell Qatar visas outside Hayya, are not run by the Qatari government.
Qatar Tourism's visa checker on visitqatar.com asks for your nationality and, for nationalities that need a visa, whether you live in a GCC country, the Schengen area, the UK, the US, Australia, New Zealand or Canada, or hold a valid visa for one of them. It then shows whether you can enter visa-free, can get a visa on arrival, or need to apply for a Hayya e-visa, and links to the Hayya portal.
Carry your passport, a confirmed return or onward ticket and your accommodation booking. Nationals of some countries must book their hotel through Discover Qatar before travelling to get a visa on arrival.
A Hayya e-visa must be approved before you travel. Carry the approved e-visa with your passport.

Onward travel
Required under these conditions
Carry a confirmed return ticket or a confirmed ticket for onward travel. Qatar's Ministry of Interior lists this as mandatory for visitors who enter without a visa issued in advance.
Travel insurance
Required under these conditions
Qatar's Ministry of Interior visa page says visitors entering on arrival need a valid health insurance policy from an insurer registered with the Ministry of Public Health.
Health insurance is required before you get a visa in advance. The Ministry of Public Health says a visitor visa is not granted until you have bought a visitor insurance policy, and the Hayya e-visa application lists health insurance as required. Visitors who stay in Qatar for more than 30 days after entry must also have a policy.
The Ministry of Public Health's insurance scheme page says visitors who get a visa on arrival do not need a policy for their first 30 days after entry.
The standard visitor policy costs QAR 50 per person per month and must come from an insurer registered with, or approved by, Qatar's Ministry of Public Health. It can also be bought on arrival in Qatar. Keep the policy with you and show it to the authorities or healthcare providers if asked.
Other information
These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.
- Your passport must be valid for at least three months. Qatar Tourism says this is counted from the date you arrive. The UK and Canadian governments advise at least six months; Canada counts it from the date you expect to leave.
- To stay longer than your permitted stay, apply for an extension through Qatar's Ministry of Interior website or the Metrash app before your stay ends. Overstaying can lead to a fine, which must be paid before you leave Qatar.
- You must declare cash, cheques, precious metals or gems worth more than QAR 50,000 when you arrive. Importing vapes and electronic cigarettes is illegal.
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you arrive from a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission. A polio vaccination certificate may also be required in some circumstances.
