Arrival forms & authorizations

Check the official entry guidance

A general tourist arrival-card requirement has not been confirmed from the Saudi authorities. Check the official entry guidance for your route.

ZATCA requires a customs declaration when you carry cash or goods covered by its declaration rules. Check the official list and keep your declaration reference for customs. This is separate from your tourist visa; pilgrimage permits also have their own requirements.

Recommended

If your nationality isn't on Saudi Arabia's list for the eVisa or visa on arrival, you apply for a tourist visa through a Saudi embassy or consulate or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' digital embassy, and you must provide a return flight booking. This doesn't apply if you arrive by land or sea, or if you hold a valid US, UK or Schengen tourist or business visa you have already used, US, UK or EU permanent residence, a qualifying GCC residence visa, or a Ministry-approved tour package.

Travel insurance

Required under these conditions

Mandatory Saudi-approved medical cover is part of the tourist visa and must stay active for your visit. Check your issued policy and its coverage. This applies to foreign tourists on tourist visas, not to GCC citizens, who don't need a visa, and may not apply to some other special categories.

Other information

These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.

  • Tourist visa applicants need at least six months of passport validity on entry, approved Saudi medical cover, biometrics and a local address.
  • The tourist-visa route excludes Hajj. Umrah and access to holy sites depend on seasonal rules and separate conditions.
  • Holding certain foreign visas or residence permits can change how you apply. These have their own conditions, such as having already used the visa or a minimum validity. The base visa fee doesn't include insurance, VAT or processing charges; check the current total before you apply.
