Visa

No visa required

You don't need a visa for a tourist visit, as long as you stay within the limit and meet the conditions below.

Ordinary passport tourism exemption under the revised unilateral scheme, effective 15 September 2026. Initial stay up to 30 days. Land-border entries under this scheme normally limited to twice per calendar year; Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore are exceptions. Further stay requires separate discretionary authorization; an extension is not part of the initial 30 days. This exemption is for tourism, not a work entitlement.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

Foreign visitors submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) for entry by air, land or sea.

Cost
Free.
When to submit

Onward travel

Required under these conditions

Visa exemption: Have confirmed proof of departure by air, train, bus or boat for the ordinary tourist visa-exemption route. Leave within the stay permitted for your entry route.

Other entry routes and source clarification

Visa on Arrival: Have a paid departure ticket and leave within the permitted 15-day stay.

Source clarification: The Thai Embassy in Doha mentions a ticket usable within 30 days. This does not extend the 15-day stay allowed by Visa on Arrival.

Travel insurance

Recommended

Travel insurance is recommended for ordinary short tourist visits. A general compulsory requirement for all such visitors has not been confirmed. Special long-stay visas can require insurance; check the conditions for your visa or entry route.

Other information

These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.

  • General visitor guidance requires at least six months of passport validity and one blank page; the Visa on Arrival checklist can require two blank pages.
  • Financial evidence is required, but current official pages disagree on a universal visa-exemption cash threshold. Check the conditions for your specific route.
  • Health requirements depend on recent travel and transit, including yellow-fever risk areas and current disease-control measures. Passport nationality alone does not determine exposure.
