Visa

Visa required

This is an eVisa, which you apply for online. Check the eligibility rules and the documents you'll need before you travel.

Obtain a tourist visa before travel because no current ordinary-passport exemption or VoA route applies. Standard application through https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ to the mission responsible for the applicant's actual location/residence, while outside Thailand. Tourist visa allows up to 60 days per entry; single-entry validity is three months and multiple-entry validity six months, which are separate from admitted stay. Upload passport, photo, itinerary, lodging/funds and mission-specific supporting documents; interview or further documents may be requested. All-nationality eVisa availability does not remove mission jurisdiction, passport recognition or admission checks.

Onward travel

Required under these conditions

Visa exemption: Have confirmed proof of departure by air, train, bus or boat for the ordinary tourist visa-exemption route. Leave within the stay permitted for your entry route.

Visa on Arrival: Have a paid departure ticket and leave within the permitted 15-day stay.

Source clarification: The Thai Embassy in Doha mentions a ticket usable within 30 days. This does not extend the 15-day stay allowed by Visa on Arrival.

Travel insurance

Recommended

Travel insurance is recommended for ordinary short tourist visits. A general compulsory requirement for all such visitors has not been confirmed. Special long-stay visas can require insurance; check the conditions for your visa or entry route.

Other information

These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.

  • General visitor guidance requires at least six months of passport validity and one blank page; the Visa on Arrival checklist can require two blank pages.
  • Financial evidence is required, but current official pages disagree on a universal visa-exemption cash threshold. Check the conditions for your specific route.
  • Health requirements depend on recent travel and transit, including yellow-fever risk areas and current disease-control measures. Passport nationality alone does not determine exposure.
