Visa required

Before you travel, check what the official route asks for. Which route is open to you depends on your passport and your situation.

Obtain a visa before travelling through the Turkish mission responsible for your application. Some nationalities qualify for an eVisa or an age-based exemption under additional conditions. Your issued visa determines the permitted stay, subject to the general limit of 90 days in any 180-day period. Fees and processing vary. Visa applicants need medical insurance valid for the stay.

You may qualify for a single-entry eVisa with a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen member state, the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland. Permitted stays are generally one month or 30 days where the official nationality guidance specifies this. Check all conditions in the official application. The supporting foreign document does not itself permit entry to Türkiye.

Arrival forms & authorizations

No arrival card required

The former Form for Entry to Türkiye is no longer required. The requirement was abolished on 3 March 2022.

Older instructions to submit it within 72 hours before travel are superseded. A visa or eVisa, when required for your passport, is a separate requirement. Customs and other itinerary-specific documents can still apply.

Onward travel

Recommended

Türkiye's official guidance doesn't set a return-ticket rule for all tourists. Some eVisa options, depending on your nationality and supporting documents, require a return ticket and travel with particular airlines; follow the conditions shown when you apply. Carry proof of departure.

Travel insurance

Recommended

Visa applicants need medical insurance valid throughout their stay. Travel insurance is recommended for visa-exempt ordinary tourists; a universal compulsory border requirement for that group has not been confirmed. Follow the insurance conditions of your particular visa or entry route.

Other information

These conditions are for a regular tourist visit. Where you live, your visa status and the route you take can change what applies to you.

  • Short stays, visa-free or on an eVisa, are usually up to 90 days within 180 days; limits for some passports are shorter.
  • Your passport normally must be valid beyond your permitted stay. Eligibility for some eVisas depends on supporting visas or residence documents, your age and how you travel.
  • Visa applicants can be required to hold medical insurance. Check the conditions of your visa.
